Orientalist Museum
Qatar's Orientalist Museum is the only institution of its kind. It is dedicated to Orientalism - an influential period in art history, based around Western artists’ first experiences and impressions of the 'oriental' East.

Orientalist Museum

The Orientalist Museum contains one of the most significant collections of Orientalist art ever assembled in the world. The collection of paintings, watercolors, drawings and prints, as well as sculptures and applied art, trace Orientalism back to the early 16th century.

Because the Orientalist Museum is currently not an operating museum, it is not open to the public. However, for those interested in viewing some of its artworks, significant selections of the collection are loaned to international museums for exhibitions on a regular basis, and displayed in exhibitions hosted by the Orientalist Museum here in Doha and internationally.
